Q&A with Dr. Towns

Q. What are you most excited about in working for The Pain Center of Arizona?

A. Iʼm excited to help in this community and work with well-trained physicians. Iʼm also excited to be a part of a group that is concentrated on working on all the aspects of pain, not just procedures, but working with the entire aspect of chronic pain.

Q. What do you like about treating patients with pain?

A. Knowing that it can make such an impact in their lives. Pain specialists are really needed in this community. I think itʼs great to help people get back to work or get back to the things they enjoy doing. Pain can be such a devastating experience that it gives us (TPC specialists) a rewarding opportunity to make a huge difference in those peopleʼs lives.

Q. What is your favorite thing to do outside of the office?

A. I enjoy spending time with my wife and two kids. I try to get out on the golf course as well. I look forward to getting my kids out on the golf course (laugh).

Q. Was there any inspirational doctor or mentor that you had?

A. I have had some excellent mentors in the past; it has been a long road to this point, but one pain physician I had in particular during my residency was a great guy and pushed me to be detailed oriented and efficient. He told me that if I wasnʼt growing I wasnʼt getting better. He pushed me to take every opportunity, every procedure, every day as a chance to get better. Dr. Curry was someone that I look to as that inspirational doctor.
